At first glance, a good Turkish five-star is almost no different from an Egyptian one. In both places, guests will be pampered and cherished, surrounded by attention, pleased with a wide range of services, good rooms and all kinds of goodies. But on closer inspection, not everything is so clear. The attentive “travelers” compared hotels in the two countries according to several criteria – and here’s what happened.
Both the Turkish and Egyptian five-star hotels are in roughly the same price range. It’s clear that everything will depend on the specific hotel, but you won’t be able to save a lot of money in Egypt compared to Turkey. There is a draw on the first point.
In Turkish five-star hotels, with very few exceptions, you can count on service that corresponds to the declared “star” rating, and the local staff is ready to make up for some of the flaws with cordiality and impartiality (no one has canceled tips). The Egyptians are also trying to do their best in terms of service, but it often seems that they are doing it somehow reluctantly (although they also expect tips, of course). Maybe it’s the difference in mentality and temperament?
Many travelers do not hide the fact that they go on vacation, among other things, to eat and drink well. And for this parameter, they choose Turkey. Most people have been traveling to proven Turkish ultra all-inclusive hotels for years, as the Turks feed them generously and also focus on European cuisine.
You won’t go hungry in Egyptian five-and-dimes either. There is a choice, though, tourists sigh, it’s still not the same as in Turkey. Besides, the side dishes may be dominated by legumes, and more spices will be added. As for alcohol, the Turks have a significant advantage in this area alone.
The vast majority of Egyptian five-star hotels are located on the shores of the Red Sea, which is considered the cleanest and most suitable for diving and snorkeling. Bright colors, lots of corals and fish, excellent visibility – you won’t see the underwater world in Egypt like this anywhere else.
The seas in Turkey are good because there are twice as many of them as in Egypt – 4 versus two. So you can choose a body of water to your liking. True, in terms of cleanliness and even more so in terms of beauty, they are inferior to the Red Sea, and very much so.
What do vacationers in the Maldives complain about? 6 main disadvantages of the country
Egypt is Africa, which means sand. Therefore, lovers of sandy beaches go to Egyptian hotels. In Turkey, however, a sandy beach is not guaranteed at all, and at any resort. And not everyone prefers pebbles. However, Egypt also has its own disadvantage – prickly corals right at the entrance to the water. But rubber safety shoes help.
Both the Egyptian and Turkish top five hotels have their own water parks, spas, several on-site restaurants, a fitness center and sports grounds, first-line beaches, and at least good rooms. But Turkey comes out ahead in two respects.
Firstly, Turkish hotels are more focused on families with children. There is a separate menu for kids, a whole staff of nannies and animators ready to keep children busy from morning to evening, children’s discos and, in general, the country has a very cordial attitude towards children. In addition, the Turkish “five” are very reverent about adult entertainment, inviting large teams of animators who speak different languages, as well as pop stars.
